After only six months, we are delighted to announce that we have been awarded with 2 AA Rosettes!
The Last has been a fixture in the Norwich drinking and dining scene for over 30 years. It is now in the capable hands of Sebastian Taylor. After a career which culminated in ten years at The Ritz in London, Sebastian is returning home to Norwich to breathe new life into this cherished institution. It is a buzzing wine bar and brasserie providing everything from a delicious Menu du Jour through to drinks and dinner A la Carte, using only the very best produce, all in a relaxed environment.
The Last has three distinct areas – our Afternoon Tea & Restaurant area “Taylors at The Last”, the Bar & Bistro and the Jazz Cellar. Our menus cater across all areas so no matter where you choose to sit you will benefit from the same great food, drink, and service. We are passionate about the great suppliers and producers that we have in Norfolk. We are committed to quality and sustainability and choose suppliers because they care about what they do as much as we do. We pride ourselves on using fresh, seasonal produce as such our menus change frequently. Great food is only a half of the equation though; no night out is complete without exemplary service. Building on Sebastian’s experience at The Ritz – the very definition of exemplary service – The Last has friendly and knowledgeable staff who can explain the menu and suggest the very best drink choices to accompany your food.
Why is it called “The Last”? Our gorgeous building started life as a shoe factory which in 1909 was described in the press as ‘the largest boot and shoe factory under one roof in the kingdom’. A “Last” is the mould from which shoes and boots are then formed – from the old English word “laest” meaning footprint.
