The April mini retreat focuses on self – care and nervous system regulation. We are living in turbulent times which can have a knock on effect on our nervous systems. We may not always be aware that our bodies are spending too much time in ‘Fight or Flight’, a response to every day stressors. This can be stressful to our nervous systems and detrimental to our overall health and wellbeing.
Some ‘stress’ can be positive but prolonged ‘stress’ can cause feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, depression, anxiety, a lack of motivation and physical symptoms’ e.g. burn out, insomnia, digestive issues, low energy, headaches, lack of appetite or comfort eating.
During the session you will learn practices to help reset your body from this over-activated state back into balance (homeostasis). Practices that you can take away with you, to nourish and restore youselves and practice in your daily lives and off of the yoga mat.
You will learn how to move from the ‘fast lane’ into the ‘slow lane’, and there are practices too for the times you feel lethargic and need energising.
You will be safely guided practices through various yoga sequences, meditation, pranayama, stillness and (savasana) relaxation. Suitable for all levels.
The morning finishes at 12.30pm where we will then gather together for light refreshments should you wish to stay. Sessions must be pre-booked and paid for in advance please as spaces are limited.
