Join us as we step back in time to 1249 and hear about the fascinating history of the Great Hospital. See inside the splendid Georgian St Helen’s House, designed by Thomas Ivory; walk in the smallest monastic cloisters in England; visit the Eagle Ward with its stunning chancel ceiling, decorated with hand panted eagles in honour of Anne of Bohemia and marvel at the medieval ceiling bosses in St Helen’s Church, some of the finest in Europe.
Our tours are approximately 1.5 – 2 hours long. Due to the nature of the historic buildings, some parts include steep and uneven steps.
Guide books are available for sale on the day or make a donation of £5 with your ticket and your book will be reserved for you to collect at the start of the tour.
