Pensthorpe, the family-friendly nature reserve near Fakenham in Norfolk, is inviting eager eggs-plorers to hop on over this Easter to take part in its egg-citing Giant Egg Hunt.
The enormous 3D eggs, which each measure over a metre tall, are part of a new fully immersive and multi-sensory trail around the reserve, taking place from 29 March – 14 April. With each giant egg decorated to represent a different bird’s egg and featuring some fascinating facts about our feathered friends, the trail gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about wildlife and the natural world while enjoying an egg-cellent day out.
Also making a return this Easter will be the popular Pensthorpe Explorer experience, an all-terrain vehicle taking guests on a 40-minute off-road tour around the parts of the 700-acre reserve that the public don’t usually get to see.
Tickets for the event also include access to a wide range of Easter crafts, pond dipping, flamingo talks and nature table activities, as well as to the indoor play area, Hootz House, and the WildRootz outdoor adventure playground and its themed trail. There are also plenty of opportunities for den building and in time-honoured Easter tradition, there will be dozens of adorable chicks and goslings to meet.
For hungry tummies, the Courtyard Café will be serving Easter-themed treats as well as its usual selection of sandwiches, paninis, warming soup, cakes and hot lunches.
Advance booking for the Giant Egg Hunt is recommended. Ticket prices for Pensthorpe are £15.95 for adults, £14.95 for seniors and children (3 – 16 years old) and children under three enter for free. Prices for the Explorer start from £4 per person and tickets can be purchased online.
