Festival Fun in Norwich

Note: This blog post was written in and is about events in 2022. Glitter? Check. Hair feathers? Check. Wellies? Check. Ready for some summer festival fun? Check.

This summer is jam-packed with incredible events to enjoy, from music festivals to foodie feasts, and live performance. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get those diaries out and start planning in some fun! And if you’re still not feeling comfortable in crowds, there are plenty of smaller scale festivals in Covid-safe settings to get excited about.

1. Head Out Not Home, City Centre, 25th July – 5th September 2022

Soak up those festival vibes with Head Out Not Home. A programme of free live entertainment in locations across the city centre – come along to hear fantastic music and see street performers strut their stuff. Every Sunday afternoon between 2-5pm, there will be performances at four different locations in the city. Ideal for families to enjoy, as a romantic date night, or perhaps even a fun activity to do with friends. Performers include Lucy Grubb, The East Angles Brass Band, The Shackleton Trio and more!

2. Mysagarden, Castle Gardens, 17th June – 5th September 2022

After the success of Mysabar this spring and last Christmas, it’s back (with a new name) and bigger than ever! Mysagarden has increased capacity, more food and drink to enjoy, plus a stage for DJ sets and music performances from local acts! With seating outdoor (although undercover to protect you from the elements) it’s the perfect way to enjoy those festival vibes right in the heart of the city. Book a table in advance or just show up – there’s plenty of availability for walk-ins.

3. Magic of Thailand Festival, Eaton Park, 14th – 15th August 2022

Experience the taste of Thailand with this two-day festival coming to Norwich. Sample delicious and flavoursome Thai food, enjoy entertainment throughout the day such as traditional music, dancing, and even Muay Thai boxing! There’s a Thai beer garden for when you want to take a break, or you can go in for a full relaxation experience with a Thai massage. The festival is topped off with food and produce stalls and a children’s play area. But best of all, tickets are only £4 for adults and free for children!

4. Open Air Film and Street Food Festival, Eaton Park, 26th – 28th August 2022

10 movies across three days, and all the tasty street food you could desire. With daytime and evening movie showings, the Open Air Film and Street Food Festival has something for everyone. Enjoy classic movies, such as Grease, The Greatest Showman and Top Gun on a massive LED screen. There’ll be a bar and local vendors serving up food and drink, and music acts still to be announced. For a fun family day out, book tickets for The Kids Club, where kids go free and there’s two movies on show – The Lion King and The Jungle Book. Or for a girls celebration, why not go for The Brunch Club, which will be showing Dirty Dancing and Mamma Mia! Tickets from £6.

5. Craft Gin & Prosecco Festival, St Andrews Hall, 14th August 2022

Do you love a G&T? Well, you won’t want to miss this. The Craft Gin & Prosecco Festival is arriving at St Andrews Hall this August, featuring dozens of craft gins from all over the UK, sparkling wines and a brand-new craft beer bar! There will be a series of distillery talks and cocktail masterclasses to enjoy, as well as live music to keep the party going. Buying a ticket will also get you your very own gin balloon glass and a 100-page gin book. Standard tickets are only £16.

6. Comedy in the Park, Earlham Park, 12th September 2022

The UK’s biggest outdoor comedy event, Comedy in the Park provides the ideal light-hearted entertainment we need to round-off the summer. With some of the biggest and best names in comedy coming to Earlham Park, it’s a guaranteed night of laughs and fun. The chortle-inducing acts include John Bishop, Al Murray, Dara O’Brien, Rob Beckett, Phil Wang and Judi Love. Tickets start at £49.50.

7. Feastival, The Forum, 18th – 19th September 2022

Discover Norfolk’s culinary heritage and celebrate some of the best food and drink the region has to offer at Feastival! With plenty of stalls to browse from independent and artisan traders, there’ll be lots to get sink your teeth into. Come along and enjoy some tasters, grab a bargain with special offers, and fill your kitchen cupboards with a fine selection of local produce. Don’t forget to stop for lunch at one of the delicious street food stalls, and spend some time at one of the talks or other food related activities on the day!

7. Feast in the Park, Holkham Hall, 17th June – 30th August 2022

Holkham Hall plays host to a fantastic foodie event this summer. From 17th July – 30th August, enjoy Feast in the Park. Each weekend there’ll be an incredible selection of street food, drinks, ice cream, and an outside bar to enjoy! Make a day of it exploring the Hall’s grounds – either by walking or by hiring a bike. Or perhaps even take a boat out onto its very own lake.

8. Deepdale Festival, Deepdale Farm, 23rd – 26th September 2022

If you want to enjoy live music and a camping adventure, with the welcome addition of cooler evenings and nights, Deepdale Festival is the place to be. Although it’s just outside the summer season, the festival vibes will be as strong as ever. Live music, spoken word, drum workshops and street entertainment are all waiting around the corner, as well as festival shopping from its own market and pop-up shops. Weekend tickets are £45 for adults and £22.50 for children, with day tickets also available for £15 for adults and £7.50 for children.
