From Saturday 18th November 2017 14:30 to Saturday 18th November 2017 21:30
A wonderful opportunity to experience the beautiful and intricate work of traditional Japanese string puppetry. Incredibly detailed puppets, some with up to 18 strings are controlled by highly skilled puppeteers who must train for at least 5 years before they are able to perform. The Masuda String Puppeteers from Shimane Prefecture, Japan are believed to be the only group still performing in the classic Edo Period style.
There will be two slightly different performances of Masuda string puppetry, with a shorter show for families at 2.30pm and a longer performance which includes more detailed demonstrations of skill elements at 7.30pm.
Presented by The Masuda String Puppeteers Association
