From Ferry Marina, centrally located in
Horning, you can easily reach the popular village of
Wroxham (home to the famous Roys department store),
Salhouse Broad with its lovely sandy beach and woodland walks, or
Ranworth where a boardwalk nature trail leads to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s floating visitor centre. At
Ranworth you can also visit
St Helen’s Church and climb to the top of the 100ft tower, where an amazing view of the local broads and rivers awaits you.
If you prefer the more tranquil waters of the southern broads then
Waveney River Centre at
Burgh St Peter is an ideal starting point, with the pretty market town of
Beccles just 1.5 hours upstream and Oulton Broad with its large children’s park about 20 minutes downstream.
Somerleyton with its famous stately home and maze, and the riverside village of
Reedham are other popular destinations within an hour’s cruise.
We have a range of vessels to suit most budgets and requirements and all our day cruisers feature galley, WC and cabin. Buoyancy aids and fuel are included in the price and you will be given tuition and route advice by our experienced staff before setting off on your adventure. Rowing boats & canoes are also available for hire at
Waveney River Centre.
Our fleet of day cruisers includes:
Admiral
At 31ft long, this is the largest of our fleet and features a centre cockpit & sliding roof with cabins front & rear, two toilet compartments and a galley.
Captain
A 30ft cruiser with spacious open plan saloon and sliding canopy, seating 6-8 people in comfort.
Commodore
At 28ft, this popular single-level design features a split-sliding canopy in the saloon and will pass under all Broads bridges (at suitable states of the tide) without dropping the roof or windscreen.
Skipper
Our luxury 25ft sporty-looking cruiser, built by our own craftsmen at Waveney River Centre and featuring an aft cockpit with removable suntop canopy and cabin, galley & WC forward.
Bosun
A 24ft single level cruiser with sliding canopy, WC and galley.
Pilot
At 21ft this makes an ideal picnic boat with a toilet, wash basin and cooker on board.

At Ferry Marina, relax in our riverside holiday cottages & apartments, many of which have been totally refurbished for 2007. Facilities on-site include a hairdressing salon and the Helska Leisure Centre featuring an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and games room.
The Ferry Inn riverside pub, located next door to the Leisure Centre, serves good food and is open all year round whilst the village of Horning offers a wide range of shops including a butcher’s, delicatessen, art gallery, Post Office and two more pubs.
