Things to DO! in the Norwich Area

There is no shortage of things to do and things to see in Norwich, Broadland and South Norfolk. Norwich is a modern cultural city with beautiful heritage, vibrant nightlife, sophisticated shopping and mouth-watering restaurants. It’s the most complete medieval city in Britain and boats over 1,500 historic buildings! The Norfolk Broads consist of 200 kilometres of unspoilt navigable waterways brimming with stunning wildlife and pretty villages, perfect for walking, boating, bird-watching or simply peace and relaxation. In the surrounding countryside you can find rustic landscapes dotted with flint-walled churches, historic houses and picturesque market towns.

The Cathedral Cloisters
Visit Norwich Cathedral, whose spire is the 2nd tallest in the country, explore the dungeons and battlements of Norwich Castle or wander through the intricate network of winding streets, home to many independent and high street stores.

The Sainsbury Centre
See fabulous art ranging from Picasso and Degas to world art from the past 5,000 years for free at the The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, explore one of the oldest buildings in Norwich at Strangers Hall or discover how people earned their living at the Bridewell Museum.

Wymondham Abbey
Explore the walls of the Roman Fort at Caistor St Edmund, wander through the spectacular long gallery at Blickling Hall, built in the 17th Century or learn about Wymondham’s past at the Heritage Museum before strolling through Wymondham Abbey.

Dinsoaur Adventure Park
Experience an African animal adventure at Africa Alive, get closer to the wild at Banham Zoo or discover the tigers at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens . If you’re looking for something bigger, head to The Dinosaur Adventure Park to see dinosaurs in their natural habitat!

Take a tour on the broads to see herons, coots, ducks and swans at close quarters, relax in 131 acres of beautiful woodland and water gardens at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden or visit Pensthorpe Nature Reserve to see animals in their natural habitat.
