Redwings is the UK’s largest horse sanctuary providing daily care for over 1,500 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. Located just a short drive from Norwich are two of the charity’s visitor centres – Redwings Aylsham and Redwings Caldecott – where you can meet the friendly residents, including Poppy the Shire, Muffin the Mule and cheeky Shetland troop ‘The Gangsters’. Visitors can enjoy regular walk and talks and horse care demonstrations, and with acres of paddocks to explore, you’ll have every excuse to indulge in a delicious treat from the café, or reward yourself with a souvenir from the gift shop – all proceeds from which go to support the horses in the charity’s care.
Both Redwings Aylsham (Spa Lane, Aylsham, NR11 6UE) and Redwings Caldecott (Beccles Road, Fritton, NR31 9EY) are open all-year round every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).
Redwings Aylsham is open from 10am to 4pm Friday to Monday, all year round.
Redwings Caldecott is open daily from 10am to 4pm, March to November.
