Christmas Food and Drink

There’s such joy in getting together with friends over lunch, or gathering the family around a table laden with local winter produce. Even stopping for a steaming coffee in a café and treating yourself to a mince pie or festive biscuit is something we all love to do.

There is a great sense of ‘local is better’ around Norwich as many of our eateries use local produce, and have great vegetarian and vegan options. We wrote some fantastic blog posts about the food scene in Norwich last year, they’re still relevant now as they only improve! Along with these we produced blog posts this year about different aspects of the food scene, one of which is Norwich Market, which for the past 6 months has seen a boom in both the amount of food stalls opening, but also visitors to the market. The range the market offers is second to none, you can take yourself on a culinary adventure spanning from South America, to Canada, India, and everything in between. Have a read to give you inspiration for where to head to.

Cosy pub lunches, brunches in brasseries, artisan cafes or full-on fine dining - Norwich and its surrounds has plenty of choice for every taste and pocket. Take a look here for restaurantscafespubs and eating on the go.

But it’s not just about the food; we have some amazing drinks producers too. Norwich has one of the largest selections of pubs of any English city, so you will always find a drinking hole worth the venture, take a look here at some of those around the city. Along with pubs, there are a range of bars with all sorts of vibes. A short walk from the city centre we have Rooftop Gardens which offers an incredible vista of the city whilst you drink beautifully crafted drinks. Along with all these delights, Norwich and Norfolk are host to some great breweries and an award winning whisky distillery. Take a tour of a brewery or distillery, or order gifts online for Christmas. Woodforde’s Brewery and St George’s Whisky Distillery are both award-winning local businesses and highly worth a visit.
